Primal instincts kick in and overwhelm you with a need for self-preservation, even though you've decided in your mind that life is something you no longer want.

...because different people have different opinions. :-)
And possibly a sprinkling of hope.
Is there someone in particular you are talking about?

With all due respect I can't take you seriously if I can't understand what you are trying to say..

..sorry, i'm kinda confusing sometimes...i guess this whole rant doesn't make sence really.
my point is that alot of people won't get someone help if they tell you they want to , ahem, off themselves. where does this logic come from
make more sence now?

So you're saying that if someone tells someone they want to die the person won't get them help?
I am really confused at what you are asking..

So you're saying you told your parents you want to kill yourself, but they refuse to get help for you because they don't take you seriously?

Most likely it is because when you are younger you proclaim, "Mommy, I'm killing myself," or "I'm going to hold my breath until I die," and they know that you aren't ever going to do it, so I think that belief just sticks in their mind.
And btw, it would be a lot easier to read your stuff if you didn't put so many "*Cough*s and, *Ahem*s, and everything. There isn't any need for that stuff and it just gets in the way.

I have. Ask around to some adults. You'd be suprised. I bet when you were younger you threatened to kill yourself once in a while. I did. I never meant it.

I used to say that to my mom a lot when I was in early elementary school. She'd just look at me calmly and explain that after long enough I'd pass out, go back to breathing normally, and then when I woke up be forced to eat my dinner anyway.
Aka your parents are probably interpreting your threats as a cry for attention, not a serious consideration. How have you been approaching them? Approach is important. If you run around like a high school drama queen wailing that the world is unfair and you might as well end it all now, no they're probably not going to take you seriously. If you sit down with them and tell them what's been bothering you and causing these thoughts, they'll probably listen. Parents are much more prone to listening to their kids if they have actual information to work with, and are prone to ignoring hysterics. It goes all the way back to infancy when mothers learn not to pick up their babies every time they cry b/c the babies have to learn that they can't always demand to get their way by making things uncomfortable for other people- instead, they have to learn how to be calm and rational.

very frustrating..i think this topic is now running in circles though at this point...

How is it running in circles? We have given you a perfectly acceptable answer. The question is answered, and wasn't that the point of the topic? Now you know exactly why parents don't pay much attention to a kid when they say, "I'm commiting suicide."
