Phone Modem

So my phone has a thing under tools as "Modem" What exactly would happen if i activated it? And what is a phone modem? or w/e

you can connect vis bluetooth of cable to your comp for internet, don't do it, it costs a lot of $$$

Ah ok lol cause i remember reading something on the news along time ago where this guy was using modem or w/e on his phone and he ended up with like a 100,000 dollar phone bill :D
