Why can't you? Are you nervous or shy about it?

It's impossible to not shit for 28 days. What's bothering you that you can't shit at a different place away from home?

I know that I don't like to, but I do it if I have to.

maybe you haven't been away from your house long enough to think you need to. Sometimes I don't feel like I need to for awhile, maybe a few days, but it will happen. If you feel nervous that you'll get sick because you won't be able to for 28 days, you should talk to someone

Trust me, your body will take care of itself on its own. You'll go at some point because its gotta go somewhere. As long as you don't physically try to resist, you'll be fine.

It's probably just something psychological. Your body will most likely take care of its self when it needs to. Having a bowel movement is your body's way of removing excreations. You will at sometime have to do that. I'm sure you will having to have a bowel movement at one time. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Food with fiber should help, too. Dietary fiber can be found on a lot of fruits, like apples and pears with skin. Popcorn and oatmeal have some too.

when people go away from home, they usally don`t eat normaly... this could be a factor.

Actually, myskias, "forcing" yourself to have a bowel movement could cause more problems than it would fix. A lot of people think that a healthy person has a bowel movement every day but, actually, a person could be going to the restroom anywhere from 3 times a day to 3 times a week. As long as it's easy to go, and there aren't any obvious problems, it's fine. So there would be no need to try and force a bowel movement, risking injury, when nothing's wrong.

Part of not being able to use the toilet outside of your own home could have to do with comfort. If you take an animal out of its normal environment and shut it up somewhere unfamiliar, it often will refuse to go to the bathroom at all until it becomes absolutely necessary, because it does not feel comfortable enough to let its guard down. Just remind yourself that the bathroom is safe to use and that you're no more likely to be walked in on or anything like that, and relax. As has been said, as long as you're not trying to prevent a bowel movement, your body will take care of it on its own and eventually it'll have to come out. I'd stay away from laxatives, they will make your trip unpleasant. Most work by increasing the amount of water that is absorbed into your GI tract, and you can guess what happens because of that. You will be spending a lot of time in the bathroom, and it will not be fun. Unless you're really severely constipated, don't do it.

Before your trip, try spending more time out of the house. Spend the night with a friend, perhaps. The more time you're away from home, the more chance you have of needing to use the facilities away from home. I suspect that once you manage to do it once, maybe twice, you won't have so much of a problem anymore.

ok thank you everyone that has helped, i do think that it may just be nerves, but i do have a few camps between now and then so hopefully i get over this, anyway i will take all of your suggestions and i think that if i do really start to freak out, i will just go to the doctor and see what he suggests but thank you for all your advice
