k so i've been cutting designs into my arm with a knife
but i'm not doing it cause i'm depressed
i just want a tattoo
but no one understands that
how can i get it through their heads?

Cutting designs with a knife is very dangerous! It could hurt you very badly even if your not trying too! If you really want a tattoo go to a specialized tattoo parlor you trust so you don't get hurt! Cutting your arm up with a knife to make tattoos does sound like depression, so thats why people think that!

the only way to get people to believe that you arent doing this because of depression is to stop doing it. cutting yourself because you want to have a tattoo is not a very smart thing to do. if you want a tattoo just go to a licensed tattoo palor and get it done. using a knife to do this is just making what you see as no big deal into something big.

Quite frankly I think your the one who needs to get something through his head or check for signs of damage..

First off what your doing is very dangerous & not common. And as I understand you are using a un-sterile instrument and you have no medical training or experience..

So stop make sure you treat your cuts and if you really want to get that kind of a tattoo design go see a professional who knows what he is doing and who uses the right instruments..

Here's the thing.
Most likely, you really are depressed and you are hiding it as that. Even from yourself.
It happens a lot.

And it's nothing to be ashamed of.
There's plenty of ways to get help.
