Who The Heck Are You Calling...?

Argh!!!
I get so agitated with my parents at times.
Where most parents would say, 'Young Lady' or 'Little Lady',
I get 'Little Girl' or 'Young Missy'.
It's unbelievably irritating... they're the only things that you can call me that will make me want to punch you in the face... no matter the context that you use it in.
I've asked them time and time again NOT to call me those because I feel that I'm being disrespected and degraded.
I've even tried using my own vices like, 'Old Crow' or 'Old Mam' to show them how it feels, but they just won't cut it out.
Who are they to call me things that make me mad when they want me to respect them?
Grrr... sorry.

haha, i know what you mean. not from my own experience, but from that of my ex-gf. her parents have "pet names" for her, such as "pumpkin" for example. i found it strangely cute, but she hated them.

I definitely get where your coming from. You have to get respect to show respect. Just find one of their pet peeves. Something that eats at them the way those names eat at you. Then when they ask you to stop, tell them you will if they will. I know you tried calling them names so I don't know what else you could do. But I'm sure there's something they can't stand. :)

Yeah, it can get annoying. Im really tall compared to the rest of my family and my dad calls me "freak". I dont really care, I know hes kidding around. Im sorry your parents wont listen to you, the best thing to do is just ignore them.

I dont get those. But i have heard them alot before and they are annyoing. I agree. My parents just dont use those. Just my name. And then that kinda goes back to the full name thing. When youre in trouble they call you buy your full name :rolleyes:

my mom used to call me 'peanut' in public :yes::mad:
no more tho..i stopped respoinding to it :):D
