Irritation after first time shaving?

ok. I just got done shaving my facial area for the first time with my new electric razor. I noticed my skin is a little irritated. This is normal right? Especially since its my first time? I've heard about it from when you shave your pubic area but never anything about the facial area. I'm a little worried because if something i did wrong, I can't go to my mom because I ripped her head off saying I was going to learn this on my own, because I thought it was embarresing. I don't know why, I just do...:whoops:

Yes. I had quite a bit of irritation when I first shaved. I was and am 13. It killed. Did you put after shave on when you were finished? If you didn't, that could be a big source of the irritation. I had some irritation like I said, but I put on after shave and it was fine after a few hours. If you didn't, you should probably buy some. You can get nasty razor burn.
