Do you think police should arrest mass protesters/celebrators who use marijuana today? or any other 4/20, for that matter.

No idea what this is but I am guessing its a day where people celebrate taking marijuana in some way?

Anyway whatever it is, yes the police are charged with upholding the law and as such should arrest anyone like it was any other day. There is no exceptions. Like we don't have a day when you can celebrate terrorism and can do as you please, no. Arrest them.

I don't see any reason 4/20 should be treated differently than any other day, no matter what your position on marijuana legality is.

agreed with everyone who answered your question. no marijuana should be allowed anytime, anyplace and on anyone.

ahh i love 420 and the marijuana march (may 3rd) because i mean when theres like 20 000 potheads in downtown toronto(or any other big city that has the march) smoking weed theres nothing that really can be done besides make sure nothing gets out of control. Theres vendors selling seeds, paraphenila, clothes i mean its just a big festival as long as noone is harmed i see no harm.

no they shouldn't
Theres thousands if not tens of thousands at some of these if police came in all GRR a very peaceful day and calm event would turn into a MASSIVE riot allot of peoplw would get hurt
and then wtf do you do with them all
suddenly arresting THAT many people
where the hell would you put them all the local jails wouldn't be able to handle that kind of sudden and massive influx
Not to mention think of the man power you would need all the cops, swat, riot control, choppers, a TON of swat cars, tear gas, and then allot of prison transports to move them all etc... I'm not fuckin paying or that
Not to mention the HUGE disruption that would cause to everyday commuters you gotta remember this is taking place in the middle of a city
all the local shops that could get damaged if it went violent

Police are charged with keeping the peace
sometimes that means backing off

No.
The people are expressing that they think marijuana is alright,
And as long as they keep it peaceful rather than starting a riot,
They need to be left alone.
It's annoying as hell when you see the cops interfereing with peaceful protests because personally, I dont' want them getting paid to haul people off for expressing their opinion. I would rather they spent their time and energy keeping us safe rather then deciding if protestors are right or wrong.

do i think they have the right to arrest people smoking in "mass" protests/marches
Yes

Do i think they should arrest people smoking in "mass" protests/marches.
No
like Whisper said it would be impractical, and most likely cause more harm than good.

I personally was at the Austin reggae fest over 4/20 weekend and their was no doubt a considerable about of people smoking, I suppose the police had the same thoughts because nobody to my knowledge was arrested for possession.

Technically smoking marijuana isn't covered in the first amendment.
