Okay, so my freshman year has been pretty good for the most part. I'm being a bit more social and reaching out of my comfort zone, being more consistent with doing homework and so forth, but I'm still an awkward little pansy. So here's the situation: some of my friends keep insinuating that like 2 girls, which, although I think they're nice and pretty to be honest, there's no way in hell that I could get in a relationship because I'm an outcast, and I don't want a relationship so early in HS. (im an alpha in training tho)

Anyways, one of my friends goes up to these two girls while they're chatting, and tries to hook me up..good lord almighty I cringed. "I'm just a friend, or a peer" oh god the dialogue and reaction was awkward. I didn't ask for this. No no no. I just wanted to read my book in peace. but no...Moore's Law. This kinda happened a few times previously, but this has to be the most horrid of all. As of a result, I kinda keep pushing myself away from those grills and act like I'm not a friend to give them the notion that I'm not some weirdo who likes them.

I don't necessarily find this to be an appropriate way to respond to the situation, as it is basically psychological warfare. I guess I'm asking where do I go from there? Should I be cool and regular as usual, or continue to distance myself away from those two further more? How do make this less awkward for me and those two poor victims? Am I overreacting?

Blah.

Sorry if it's a weird question, but I deal with this like every year.

Seems like your friend puts you on the spot.
I would suggest playing it cool and rolling with the flow of things.

Be flirty and fun and don't make things awkward, but when it comes to commitment make sure you're shying away from that.
