Talk about these things:
- Lobbying, especially by aerospace industry
- SuperPACs
- Efficacy of term limits
- Big agriculture's role in the USDA and d big pharma's time in the FDA
- How cheerleading safety standards are created by the companies who make the competitions.
This is not exhaustive and also you should give some comparison to your country and another one that is industrializing like China or India.

comparing our healthcare system with another would be an excellent topic.
there's $15,000 ambulance rides, $30,000 helicopter rides, itemized billing with a $100 charge for a bandage, gown and toothbrush, etc. you could look at the insurance and medical companies that had interests in Obamacare being passed, which itself is a inefficient, bureaucratic behemoth and tax on the middle class to pay for the morbid obesity and drug/alcohol related health problems of the lumpenproletariat. Medicare is also a clusterfuck, and requires the employment of a literal army of pencil-pushers and beancounters to process claims.
to throw in a personal anecdote: my friend's dad was injured a few years ago after his lawn mower's engine blew up and severed three of his fingers. he was in a semi-rural area, and as he was bleeding out they were asking him shit like, "what do you do for a living?" (i.e. ARE YOU GOING TO PAY US OR....??????) basically rifling through his pockets before the helicopter showed up. you could make this your thesis if you wanted to, it's that bad.

I HIGHLY doubt this. It would be the most fucked up thing I've ever heard. No1 could be that crazy.
@OP
I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I heard from some Mexican friends of mine that Obamacare REQUIRES you to buy expensive health insurance even if u can't afford it financially (failure to do so results in a huge fine). Does that work?

I gotta concur the health care thing.
My brother also had an incident with his fingers because of an accident at work. His index finger was 95% severed, his middle finger was 60%, and his ring finger 25-30%ish. He'll probably have to end up getting his index finger amputated. His fingers look like dicks now.
The exact same thing happened to his supervisor before he started working there, and it happened to a guy after he left. Turns out Indiana is the only state where you can't sue your employer for gross negligence or something. Luckily this didn't happen 3 months earlier when he didn't have insurance. But there are tons of people in the same position who are shit outta luck there.
To make things worse, my local hospital doesn't do shit. At the time they weren't even setting broken bones, they just send all their patients to Indianapolis. So he didn't get the medical attention he needed as soon as he should have.
Though if you don't wanna do that, there's a number of other issues you can cover, such as poverty rates, the distribution of wealth, etc.
But what I don't suggest is basing your speech on 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Ya. Then they fucking complain about ISIS being formed. It's their fault.
The US claims it advocates freedom and liberty but it doesn't really. Point out cases where amendments have been violated. Point out times where the government conducted experiments on humans. Point out times when they illegally got what they wanted for their own agenda. Talk about the middle east kerfuffle if you'd like but it may be very controversial and you may get a lot of hell for doing it. Talk about the NSA and their interception of phone calls, Google searches, E-mails etc.
Also make sure the stuff you talk about is supported. Not just conjecture or conspiracy theories.
