So today when I was texting my boyfriend I found a new very visible vein on my penis. It really really creeped me out. When I asked my boyfriend about it he said it was just my penis growing. But I just want to be sure. The new vein is right by the head of my penis. So my question is what would cause this new vein to be there? Also should I see a doctor?

I dont think its anything that you need to see a doctor about, the penis is full of veins and capillaries and its nothing for them to become visible as your penis grows. Some guys have a very veiny-like penis and some guys dont, but its nothing to be concerned about, you are just fine.

You won't have grown a new vein. There are two possible explanations for a vein becoming more visible:

1. A decrease in fat under the skin. This is a hormonal thing - testosterone causes there to be less fat between your skin and the other tissues underneath than was the case as a boy, or for a girl, which makes the veins more visible.

2. A change in blood flow causing the vein to expand slighly. Remember the blood flow around you penis is obviously subject to the change of getting erect and then soft again so it is probably nothing to worry about - up to you if you want to get checked.

Were you guys talking about something that made you hard? It was your bf afterall :)

While this forum is great for people to share opinions and experiences, nobody on here is properly qualified to diagnose you.

If you have any concerns at all go see a DR. That way you can have all your questions answered, understand what is going on and feel better.

Good luck bro!
