Before I start, I am typing this on mobile and I have my auto correct disabled because its poo, so bear with me on all the mistakes.
Anyway
I have yet to see any post on here specifically about joining the military on here, and while I only have limited experience with it I can share what I know.
I'm in the Indiana Army National Guard, and have not went to basic training yet. I have went to a RSP drill weekend which is sorta like pre basic. So while I obviously cant answere ever question, ask away and i'll do my best.
A few things if your looking to join ANY military.
1. Start running and doing pushups and situps. You may think you can do enough, but you can't. I can say that as a matter of fact.
2. Learn the rank structure of whatever you are going into.
3. Look up basic drill and ceramony commands.
4. Don't do anything stupid and if you use illegal drugs stop taking them now. Ive only been in for around 2 weeks and ive been blood tested once and pee tested 3 times.
If you have any other questions i will answere them to the best of my abilities.

I'm 18 and in college right now, and want to go into the Marine Corp reserves in 2 years, while also being in college. Can Marine reserves help pay for college other than the salary given?

different branches differ, but I am pretty positive (like over 90%) the Marine Corp reserves offer sometime of financial aid for college. you would have to ask a recruiter for full details

Its nice to see someone who takes it seriously.
I dont think that many are serious about it in Denmark. The ones who choose it does of course.
Im still thinking about trying it out when I get of age. So thank you for the tips

To my knowlege, all branchs in the US pay for college to some extent. The Indiana national guard pays for 100% tuition and then some, and I think the least you can get is around 50%. Like he said though, definitly ask a recruiter for details, and remember when talking to them: If you cant get it in writting, it doesnt exist.

if it can help pay for college, do you think it's a good idea to go into the Marine Corp infantry reserves while in college? I genuinely don't care if i were to get deployed and miss an entire semester if i can make it up another year.

If you are interested, the Danish armed forces permits women into combat zones. If your capable, you can become infantry. But you may not want to be deployed to Afghanistan lol

I cannot stress how big of an commitment you are making: it is possibly the biggest single one of your life, next to maybe only marriage and having a kid. Once you swear in, the government owns you for 8 years. I'm not trying to scare you, only to make sure that you know what happens.
Now, personaly I would suggest something other than infantry, simple because if you can get job training whole in the military that's even better. I know in the Marines it's harder to get a spefic job, but you may want to think about it.
Then again, if you want to be infantry be infantry. Military service looks good on most resumes
Either way, from the begging of talking to a recruiter to actually enlisting, it may take a week or a month. Be patent and start the process as soon as possible. And again, start excersizing.

I genuinely understand the commitment and will accept it if I choose to join the military in 2 years.
I feel starting my military service at 19-20 is better than 21-22.
This isn't even something i discussed with my parents because for some reason, it's just embarrassing for me to talk about and i'm worried they are going upset about doing it while in college. then again, if theres a way the Marine Corp can pay for tuition, they may see the brighter side.
and i'm definitely certain I want an infantry MOS

Tall to your parents. Thats not something you want them to not know about. But other than that, when your ready talk to a recruiter man.
