So, after university studies, me and my friend thought about serving in some globally approved military organisation, our home army included, and we thought about the Legion. Anyone knows how it is or what type of people go there? It would be appreciated if someone who knew someone who served to tell how it was, or someone French to tell me.

In France sometimes you see documentaries about it.
Training in French Guyana, in the whole middle of the jungle. xD
But I think you need to speak french very well.

I meant the French one, might look up the Spanish one. The Russians also accept foreigners, but I think you serve alongside Russians so you need to know Russian.

You should choose a country you love, if you're more comfortable with the russian one well it's up to you.
But you need to speak the language of this country anyway.
In France I know that there is a strong solidarity between the foreign legionnaires and the Army is quiet kind with them when they quit once old.

Well, technically you don't need to know French from what I read, but if you know it, you have better chances of being accepted for training, I guess it shows you mean business and did your homework. If me and ky friend decide to join, I will start training and probably lay off with smoking, also learn some French.

Stronk Serb : Honestly I don't know the exact modalities but concerning the legionnaires, as far as I saw, they know speak french.
Anyway I hope you've got the mentality, their training is not for pussies, haha.

Well, I ain't exactly Caesar charging over the Rubicon and having like 30 javelins hit him brave and stoic, but I ain't a pussy. I know how to withstand the crap thrown at me. Also, desertion mid-training is a no-no because my family would disown me, plus I would be wanted in the EU.

No, they would be crazy to give that to you. I heard the NCOs at the training camp in Africa yell to every recruit that their FAMAS is more valuable than them, because y'know, recruits are expendable. The FAMAS isn't.
