View Full Version : Makeup or No Makeup?

Girls, do you always wear makeup in public? Why or why not? If you do wear makeup, is it light/natural or medium-heavy?

Guys, would you prefer a girl to wear light-heavy makeup or no makeup at all? Why?

My answers:
I rarely wear makeup. If I do, it's only a little bit of mascara and lip gloss. xP I'm bisexual so I will answer the second question as well. I don't really have a preference but I think light to no makeup at all is better. If I had a girlfriend, I wouldn't want her to put on a cake ton of makeup on in an attempt to change her appearance because she's feeling insecure (hopefully that made sense). ,_,

I'm not a biological girl, but I do wear makeup. I would say my makeup is around a medium almost heavy. I go for the very thick dark eyebrows, heavy contour, and extreme highlighting. I don't mind how much makeup someone puts on whether it's cakey or not.

im 13 and in year nine (i think in us its grade 8)
i dont wear makeup, yet almost every other girl seems to.

I think that i probally wont ever, unless i get really really ugly and feel obliged to cover myself up with a mask.

It also would take up valuable time that i could spend sleeping.

I wear makeup pretty often. I don't always wear makeup if I'm going out in public; I can't really be bothered. It ranges from light to medium. If I wear makeup, I'll wear concealer, powder, eyebrow liner, eyeshadow, some sort of lip thing and mascara. If I feel like wearing a little more, I'll throw liquid foundation, a wee bit of contouring and eyeliner into the mix.
I'm bi so I'll answer the second question. It really depends on the girl. Some girls look amazing with no makeup, some look amazing with lots. As long as it's done well I don't really care. It's up to them, really. It's not my face they're putting it on.

Frankly speaking I am rather for than agaist makeup. But the problem is that many girls look like funny dools. So do not do it too much.

I only use mascara to bring out my eyes and concealer to cover the circles under them, so it's pretty light.

I guess I'd prefer light makeup to none. I think it depends on the girl.

I'm not really a fan of it, and also have little to no experience on it, partially given that my mother and sister both don't care for it :P Some light touches might look really nice, or even some more obvious looks, but in the end I end up wondering how you are without it.

My girlfriend doesn't wear makeup, and she's amazing that way!

I try to keep it to a minimum so I have a more natural look.

Personally I would prefer a girl to wear light or no makeup and keep her look mostly natural.

Too much make-up makes a girl look uglier than she ever did without it. No one likes a girl who looks like she put crayons on here face. However, makeup to me is an indicator to how a girl is with the rest of her life. For example, if she puts makeup on, she obviously cares what others think about her which means she is probably tidy at home and polite. On the same token, too much means she is an attention whore or is really self-concius or unconfident. Also, no makeup means she may be a slob who cares nothing about personal hygiene or what others think of her. As for looks, I have met girls who look attractive enough without makeup. If you're that girl, then rock that because a girl who is attractive without it is way hotter than one who puts it on because she needs it. Honestly though, you are probably your own best judge, so just experiment and see what looks best.

On every day bases(to school and similar) I wear only a little bit of a concealer under my eyes, a powder just to set it, a mascara and sometimes a lipgloss or something if I'm not to lazy. When I go out I will maybe put some eyeliner and a red lipgloss or lipstick. I don't wear foundation because it will just make my acne worse. I used to wear it everyday but I stopped. I will rarely put on some eyeshadow, just if I want to play a little bit with my make up which is really fun to me.

Because if there's ONE thing that's DEFINITELY a reflection of one's character, it's their fashion choices, yes?

I mean, personally I don't give a ~*heck*~ if they wear makeup or not, because I don't wear it so I won't expect them to do so if that's not their thing. If it is, good for them, and I think it accentuates already attractive features on them.

On girls...

never, Never and NEVER

I cannot stand women with makeup. This may sound like quite the generalisation but the truth is that a lot of women whom I have met in my life that wear makeup cannot even sustain a conversation for more than five minutes. This is most likely because they are worrying about their appearance.

Girls, take note. I know for a fact, at least on this forum, I am not the only who thinks like this.
You are beautiful the way you are. For goodness sake, don't wear makeup. Come to us as you would to your parents, friends who are girls etc. Be you- not shrouding yourself behind markers and lipstick.

Usually I do wear makeup if I'm going out and about. I feel really insecure if I go anywhere not at least dabbing some eye shadow on. But, I usually don't put much effort in my makeup unless I'm performing.

How do you feel about women who wear light makeup, such as a touch of mascara to highlight their features along with lip gloss (or lipstick)?

When I'm out in public I will occasionally put on light mascara and, if it counts, ChapStick. Other than that, I don't wear any makeup at all.

I usually don't wear make-up at all. I've only worn it a few times at a party or to go out.

When I'm feeling girlisih I always put on makeup - concealer, foundation, brown smoky eye, black smoky or sometimes pastel, I always top it up with some thick winged eyeliner, brows, mascara and contour my face. I rarely wear lipstick but when I do it's either brown/pink natural or burgundy.
