So I want to know what you guys would do.

Last tuesday I got a sore throat;
Last Friday I found white bumps in my throat;
Sunday I went to the walk in, doctor told me most likely mono, told me to come back today for blood testing because it was a long weekend at the time;
I informed my boss first thing for both situations (I was at work when I found the bumps and had to stay anyway, and first I told when I went to the walk-in on sunday.) and he gives me a day off (yesterday);
I phone him today and tell him I can't come in because I'm still sick and he goes off on me for "deserting" my shift because no one else wants to work tonight and is causing me heavy stress, which if you've had mono you'd know is bad for you.

If I didn't mention, I work with food, Pizza to be exact. So we are always handling cooked food. Mono is very contagious and I told him it's a bad idea. He still insists on me coming in today to work my shift even though I am tired af and contagious while working with food.

No matter how many times I tell him he keeps coming down on me everytime I tell him I can not come in. And it gets worse every time I tell him. I don't know what to do, I've gone to my parents and they've come up with nothing either... any help?

You should have gotten a note from the doctor saying you can't work for x amount of days

THey charge $20 and due to college I have no money left at all. Plus a note shouldn't even matter when it comes to something as contagious as this...

Well it would help in your case if you happen to not go in, and then they try to fire you.

This is the classical ignorant asshole boss. It's his problem that you don't come in because he has nobody to cover your shift and does not know how to deal with this situation. So he's now making it your problem. These people are not management material.

One thing you can try is to get to his level and make him understand. Two scenarios are possible, he will fire you or he will step down and accept what you have said to him. He is searching for a solution so with him it might be good to make a deal with a co-worker to cover you when you plan to be absent and then offer it to him. Do this only if you care about your job.
