Do you go mixed or single sex school?

I go all boys and love it even though it can be rough. And I still see girls a lot and have girl mates. We also mix with girls from a nearby all girls for discos and stuff:)

Mixed, always have and I think I'd absolutely loathe going to a single sex school. Personally I think the segregation is pointless and outdated.

Yeah but some of the boys at my school openly admit they would find being around girls a distraction. a few were even sent there from mixed for bad behaviour towards girls :eek:

I get that it might improve the concentration of some kids but essentially you learn at school and its not a place to 'check out the eye candy' no matter which students you're around. It's just a case of being able to control yourself, if they can't treat girls right now then who's saying they'll be able to once they've left school?

I agree totally. It kind of doesn't address the issue long term. I don't know what the answer is for that though. Some boys in my school think its all a big laugh and it gives boys a bad name cos some of us are respectful around girls. I always am

I just thought about how it would be on a single-sex school. I've found that I can't really imagine it.



btw: I don't generally associate "be happy" with school, cause in my opinion school isn't a big part of my real life.

But I can't either say that my current school is that bad, that I feel uncomfortable there too. Best to say is: I'm get along at my school very well or such.

I've always been homeschooled or at a school with boys and girls. I can't imagine going to a girls only school.

In middle school my class was all boys, but my high school is co-ed which is by far better in my opinion. It's a very hard adjustment to make though.

I've always been in schools where sexes were mixed. I don't think I would like it too much if I went to a private, same-sex school.

I don't recall hearing about a single sex school in Brazil, or at least in my area.

I go to a very stereotypical upper middle class public high school. If you're a guy, you're either a player or not a player and if you're a girl, you're either a slut or a prude. It's really too bad..

In my agri economics classes (college) there are only a few girls, campus is coed so lots of girls around, just not in my classes.

Went to a mix school and loved it. I couldn't cope in a all boys because I would end up fighting a lot, only one female friend could keep me calm even more when I started to get depression and would get pissed as the smallest thing And didn't care if I got kicked out of the school.

However my parent's both went to same sex schools. My dad a private boarding school in Somerset, both him and my uncle went to it. My dad enjoyed it and if he could said he would off sent me and my brothers to one. My mum went to an all Catholic girls school. I don't know if she enjoyed it or what. However she does agree that girls can he very mean.

when it can to my little sister the other year my parents looked at the school me and my brother's went to and the local all girls school. My dad was really for the all girls school. My mum more for my sister choice knowing how all girl schools can be.
My dad pushed my sister to go to the all girls school but she choice the school me and her other brothers went to.

Sorry for it being so long Riley2015 my point being I think you would have to try both out to know for sure.

Also you saying boys have gone your school after getting in trouble with girls. It's all about wanting to do well at the end of the day.

I go to mixed gender public school.I've never heard of an all girls or all boys public school since the 1920's-30's in the USA but I would suppose there's private academies that are like that here.I guess that is a common thing in European countries.

Every school is a mixed school in my area. I couldn't imagine being in a school full of girls because I spend so much time with the boy nerds of my class ^_^. I don't think I'll be able to survive long in a single sex school.

There are no strictly boy/girl schools here. But mine should might as well be. Not too many girls are interested in IT now days.

I go to an all boys private school. I've loved every minute of it and dread the thought of graduating in May. But it's a pretty progressive school where you are completely responsible f0r your own decisions. If you don't want to go to class, don't go. Even with that philosophy, guys rarely miss class. So how the school is run is more important than all boys or mixed for me.
