My mom passed away yesterday morning from liver cancer. She was home and went in her sleep.

Dude, don't know what spirituality you believe in, but my prayers will be for you and your mom.
I personally don't believe in "death, passing away, " whatever.
My family has been using the term "TRANSITIONED" , meaning the spirit is still there, but has transitioned to another plane of existence.

Am truly sorry to hear this. Just remember your mum is still with you in your heart and in your memoires,so she hasn't really left you. She may not be with you anymore in person but she is in spirit
