I've literally been back at school for one day and then today we get a half day because of teacher training. Not that I'm complaining but what do they even do?

I don't know how it works in the UK but in Australia the teacher training days are for teachers to go to a big assembly of teachers and learn new teaching techniques and get caught up with modern methods. I never actually went to one of them but this is what I remember my old Maths teacher telling me about it.

Pretty much the same in the UK, it is mainly just seminars or something similar to talk about new teaching techniques. They usually get employed for a week and then forgotten about. [emoji14]

I think new teaching techniques too. And maybe if they need to teach about something you need computer programs for, the teacher needs to master that program.
It could be seminars on a psychology topic like stress to learn how to read the signs before its too late.
Or some first aid...
