Organization tips and advice?

Hey all. I'm a freshman this year and it has been a couple weeks since school started. However, I'm having some trouble organizing my belongings. I have 8 classes, meaning I have to carry around 8 binders throughout the day. I'm pretty terrible at keeping myself orderly, lose assignments as well as a few binders. I guess I need some advice from other HS students. How do you keep on top of all the micromanaging? I was also thinking about replacing most of my binders with a single 4-5" in. binder so I can reduce my trips to my locker and keep track of everything. Should I do this?

I'd go with getting a bigger binder, like you said, and buying dividers (plastic ones are more expensive but more durable) to separate your subjects. I pride myself on organisation regarding school work and I keep binders at home for each subject that I file my work for the day/week away in when I think that I won't need the notes for a while. Doing that means that you definitely know where everything is and you're not having to carry around notes from months ago that you're not going to need until the exam.
