Does anyone else shut down completely when people try talking to them about depression? When people want to talk about me I don't know how to put my feelings into words and so I resort to trying to stop everything and I just sit there silently blocking out everything.

It's a way of coping, I suppose. You should try finding a way to explain yourself and your feelings beforehand so you can have that ready whenever anyone asks.

oh my goodness yes, just last night my "friend" asked why i was upset because i was darting my eyes around and tense, other then a few mumbles i was silent and spaced out. i feel you.
