Hi, So we all have leaders whether they are like football captains or mathletes team captain etc. anyway, for the second year I tried to be my student leader, but did not get it for the second year in a row because the teacher picks the leader. (the first year I tried out and did not expect it get it, that's not the problem). Anyway, there is about 2 months left in our season and I hate my leader. I have actually known him since we were 6 and we were really good friends, but then we hit high school and things just split, now he's in charge of me, and he's a terrible leader. He yells and everyone, he makes people cry, I've never been so upset doing the thing I love, (we are both juniors) for the last 2 years we had amazing leaders, and everyone loved each other and everything. and now its terrible. we have had so many fights (all of which he starts) and he always ends it with "well I'm the leader so shut up" then we go and complain to the teacher. and he does nothing because he's an idiot. so help, what or how am I supposed to deal with this person. we have events 3-5 times a week that last 2 or more hours and I cant take it. everyone else (about 15 of us) all agree he is terrible and he needs to go but only about 4 (including me) want to take action. I come home every day crying because of him and I don't want to live like this anymore. I shouldn't have to live like this anymore, but what am I to do?

Talk to a principal/guidance counselor and explain the situation. You guys shouldn't have to put up with this. I would mention something about the teacher not doing shit too but that's up to you.

I agree. Get him off that horse. He is a terrible leader

Another option to consider is getting 3 or 4 other kids to join you in sitting down with the leader. Tell him that your little group would like to talk about your concerns with him and his leadership style. Then, if he doesn't want to cooperate, or learn some things, I'd say go to the principal at that point. You can't let one person ruin the whole year.

I agree with the guy above ; trying to talk him out before resorting to the principal may save your relationship . If you go to the principal right away there are high chances he will think of you as his enemy for some reason
