Gyms and sports are always a good way to break the ice. If there, you can glance and say something generic. You could always follow up later with something more specific and see if they accept.

its a touchy subject. i'm in the same boat you are. bring it up porn or jacking off when you guys are at a sleepover or something like that. then you can ease into at least ask if they are cut and how big they are etc. i know all of my friends sizes and have compared with one of them. hopefully another soon.
