I'm a complete noob when it comes to computers, and my net book has been infected with CrossBrowser. I have no idea how to get rid of it. Is there any cheap way to get rid of it? I was planning on purchasing a WinCleaner OneClick. Has anyone had experience with that or know of any programs that can get rid of CrossBrowser for good? Thank you.
I'm also not good with computer terms so I probably need a lot of help. Thank you.

Your anti-virus should be able to pick it up. If not something like WinCleaner won't work either. They falsely advertise that it speeds up your computer and removes viruses. If anything it will slow down your computer a bit more. If you can not remove it via anit-virus it may be worth it to bring it in to a BestBuy, or even a local computer store to have them look at it.

One SystemCare is on my computer and I can clean for around $40. Do you think that will work? It's anti-virus software.
Thanks for the quick response.

I hope you haven't paid SystemCare the 40 dollars. Doing a very quick google search on that software renders many results on its removal. Usually, there are YouTube videos that show how to remove these things step by step, no know-how needed. I never had CrossBrowser, but Malwarebytes should be able to remove it for you, free. Also try getting an AV like Avira or Avast.
One more tip, only download things from trustworthy sites, and beware of downloaader/installer programs. Read through all the dialog boxes, many try to install additional software you don't want.

I personally use MalwareBytes, SuperANTISpyware, and AVG. All are free

I'm not going into what I use for my computer for security reasons, but Malwarebytes should do the trick, and if you have Windows 8.1 or lower, get ComboFix from BleepingComputer, and to prevent future infections and to speed up web browsing, install Adblock Plus and if you don't have a better browser than IE, get Firefox and install Adblock Plus and Disconnect, which are free.
