I prefer not to do it n the shower either but that and abstaining for a whole semester were the only choices I'd choose the shower. There is no way I'd want to go that long without.

I have never had a roommate for that length of time but my experience of sharing accomodation with other guys, for example camping or in bunkhouses, has been that everyone continues to j/o. In particular last thing at night it is common to just get on and do it, not making a show of it but not really trying to hide it either.

If you dont want to just go for it you could you could talk about it and either agree that it is ok to masturbate in the room, and if so under what circumstances (like with the lights out at night) or agree a code for "I need some private time". The latter is useful if you want to bring someone back for sex too.

Another possibly way is to wait until your roommate appears to be asleep. If he actually is asleep then great, if it turns out you were mistaken you can then say "Oh, sorry I though you were asleep" which means you can't be accused of deliberately subjecting him to something he'd rather not witness and it may break the ice at the same time.

When I don't jack off for a week, it'll start leaking. It's very uncomfortable, and I see no benefit in it. I, personally, couldn't last a semester without jacking off. Why don't you just ask your roommate for some space? I'm sure he'll be cool with it. Chances are he's going through the same problem as you are. You can also try the showers. I know it's not something you prefer, but it's still better than nothing.
