Anyone else have this problem? At the moment there are 2 songs I've been searching for for like 5 years, one of them I had like a line of lyrics too but I sold the ipod the note was on with the lyrics, and the other one no one else remembers the name of even thought they remember the music video
It's torture

I can totally relate. :P
Googling whatever lyrics you can remember usually helps.

It's the worst when the song you're thinking of has no lyrics. I've literally resorted to trying to type the tune :lol3:

I can relate, this is all I do when it comes to music haha. This app called Shazam helps me a lot (It recognizes the song playing) though

Exactly! I can relate.
Apart from that, there's this song that I heard once years ago and I missed the name and all I know about it is that the singer's first name is probably Jason. Haven't found that song yet :p

This so much, the worst is when you don't even remember if it's a real song or if it's in your head. I wondered for years once until I heard it on oldies radio

Oh my gosh yes,I so can relate! There was like three songs I didn't know the name and loved and Google was no help until I finally found the name of them and I was so excited. Now I don't really have to do that with Pandora and the usage of Soundhound with Siri.Just press the home button and ask Siri what song is this if its playing on the radio and bingo! She knows!

Soundhound (on iOS) has been the greatest thing ever for me - at least in the car, when most of the time the radio doesn't even tell you the name of the song or artist. There have been some songs that I heard for years that I never knew the name of until that app identified them for me.

Unfortunately I only have the memory of the music video so never had the chance to use an app like that :'(

This is the ultimate struggle. I spent like 3 full years trying to figure out The Impression That I Get by the Might Might Bosstones when I was like 10, and finally got it by telling a friend that it was "a punk song with horns in it" and he was just like "oh this song?" effortlessly. You'd think that I would have been ecstatic but I was more annoyed that he knew it within one second of hearing my vague description :P

Once while camping I was constantly humming the Pink Pather theme song. I finally realised about two days later.

I got one that usually airs on the VH1 commercial breaks. The music video is some sort of super sterile white environment, and the lead singer (woman) is wearing a white dress with some sort of red mask or something. And the lyrics go something like "na na na, nanananana, na na na, nanananana" and something like "my thing, my thing". Anyone knows the name?

Download the app called, "SoundHound"
All you have to do is hum the song and it will give you the name of the song :)
It works for me! Or sometimes I type in a line of lyrics from the song I remember into Google and I get the song name :)

I hate it when I get a really popular instrumental song stuck in my head and I can't look it up because there aren't any lyrics to google. Typing "that one song with the saxophone riff" doesn't help much.

I can relate. It's worse than HIV... okay maybe not that bad, but it sure is frustrating.
There's one song that I've wanted to know the name of since I was like 10 and I have no memory of the lyrics, all I can remember from it is the ostinato that plays throughout the song. It really erks me that I'll probably never hear the song again in my life, but I guess that's just how it goes.

I have had this problem so many times in the past, where I've had just a single line or tune and nothing else to go by for when I try to search it up. It was incredibly frustrating - now every single time I hear a song on the radio or in a shop that I like the sound of, I shazam it straight away haha. Shazam's just an app that tracks and identifies songs, and for the most part is quite helpful. Or otherwise I try and guess the name of the song via its chorus, OR I write/type out as much of the lyrics from the song as I can to look up later :p

This happens way to many times! I still can't find this one song I heard over a year ago. I was something like Party Town/Party Train and it was kinda funny.
