I know there are different visa types so has anyone on here very worked in the USA that is a British citizen ? I know I can get in for 90 days with out a visa for a holiday. Or in general if you have worked In a different country and needed a visa was it easy to get ?

Okay I don't know anything about America or visa's really. I got a visa to go to india for a school trip and it was about £100, that's all I've got for you.
Just wanted to let you know that *I think* that if you're going to another country outside the EU for work and not 'pleasure' then you need a working visa and can't class it as a 'holiday', if you're getting paid when you're there then your visa has to specify that that's what you're there to do.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

You need a working visa if you have any intention of being paid to work in another country. They can kick you out if they find out that you claimed to be on vacation but were instead there to work and potentially ban you from the entering country. Most borders, especially in North America, are very strict about this. The United States in particular is pretty strict about illegal workers.
Most visas don't usually take that long to apply for. If you're honest and don't have a criminal record, the process is pretty quick. You should already have a job set up, however. I know there are instances in which they don't like people coming into the country without a reference of some kind to verify what you'll be there to do, even with the correct visas. Customs and immigration will probably ask those sorts of questions. So if you can find a job ahead of time and get your visa, you shouldn't have a problem.
I can't really help you with the specifics because I'm Canadian, not American. But any government website should be able to point you in the right direction.
