Just going to make this short. Was in baseball for a tiny while while I was in my child years of 5-6/7ish. Tried out for a softball team when I was 13 but didn't make it over a single throw to home instead of first by accident. Now I am 18 and thinking about it because my dad plays and has all his life, so has my uncle. I want to get into the sport but I feel I might be a bit late.
When I think about joining sports I get thrown off because of the whole "People starting young." I want to believe you can join a sport at any age and get the hang of it but I can't back that up really...
Is it possible to commit and build skill on a sport as you enter your adulthood or should I just try golf or something...

I have been playing Soccer since I was 4 years old and I still to this day have to work hard everyday to stay up with the players on my team and also my competition. I think it is possible you could play Baseball again, but it is going to be a ton of hard work on your part to get to the level where you need to be at your age. Work extra hard I you never know what could happen. Good Luck.

Yeah I plan to work hard. My uncle used to work at an arcade and knows people who work in the batting cages so I can get hours of free cages for my swings. Practising pitching any free times I can get, and just general games of catch with friends, but having them distanced apart so I can work on speed and distance. These aren't my only plans, they're just a basis of it and I plan to do all that and more. The great thing about the batting cages is I can adjust the speeds from 0-100mph and choose either softball or fastball. I just need to find a way to commit between my work hours and my upcoming college schedule for my first year.

Good Luck and I really hope it turns out well for you. I have been in a batting cage a few times in my life and I don't think I ever hit the ball once.

Lol yeah I went today for the first in awhile without any of my own equipment so I used some old helmet (Which I will prob get live from later on) and this really bad metal bat with no grip. I went about 30 pitches and landed a crack on almost 17 shots, the rest were just sloppy misses/fouls. Felt accelerating to hear those cracks though.

Are you talking about...just learning the basics of the game? And then like joining a recreational team? Or like actually trying to go pro at some point?
