Recently I've started shaving my facial hair (I use a Philips electric razor) but the problem is I keep cutting myself (deep cuts) and most of the time I fail to remove 40 percent of the hairs or more. How do you guys shave? Any advice you can give me?

I dont know if you can use shaving foam with an electric razor, so try using a disposable one, or invest in a good manual one. Cover your facial hair with the shaving foam, then begin to shave. You do not need to press too hard when shaving, just glide gently in short strokes WITH the direction of hair growth. When all shaving foam has been shaved off, see if you have any hair left, and gently remove them. If you're going to go out, put some aftershave on your face, it will sting like a bitch, but it avoids infections and ingrown hairs.

I've shaved my face for two years, and never ever cut myself using these methods.
Hope I've helped,
V

If you get cut alot regardless buy a "styptic pencil" its like a crayon you put on a cut and it stips bleeding instantly, theyre like two dollars at a pharmacy but i ordered mine online.

I use a very simple trimmer, that can come with hair clippers. They are very safe and I shave with them and I can get a very nice shave

I know it might sound a little more dangerous but it's worth a try because different things work for different people. I don't shave but I recommend that you give a manual razor a try and use A LOT of shaving foam/cream.

Well, I use hand shave instead of eletric. I am totally fine except sometime I got minor cut. I think you have to read the manual book before use. Use with caution.

you dont need to use much pressure when shaving with an electric razor you just need to guide it over the hair while lightly pressing it against your skin by the sounds of it you must be digging the razor into your skin to be cutting yourself

Close. What I apparently am doing according to my mom is I hold the razor in the wrong way so that it cuts my skin. No idea how to fix that tho hence this thread. Tho it could be I'm pressing too hard; I'll try ur way.
