View Full Version : I have no friends.

I have been extremely lonely lately due to social isolation. The only person I have to converse with is my boyfriend...who resides in another country. I lack friends due to this inability to relate to people in my age group...at least in the area I'm in. Additionally, they don't hang around outdoors anyway so I don't even know how to make friends. Next year I'm going to be studying independently/home schooling because of educational opportunities...so befriending fellow students in a public school setting is ruled out. I've joined what seems like a hundred different social websites on the computer and downloaded what seems like a hundred different social apps on my phone. I've tried Meow Chat, MyLol.com, Teenhive.com, and a bunch of others that I can't even think of. The only people in my age group that have bothered to talk to me have an intention to get in my pants. I gave up for a while and now I'm on VT, hoping to at least develop some sort of friendship over the internet.

TLDR: I only have one person to talk to who's in another country. I can't find any friends to hang out with in my area. I'm home schooling next year. I've tried too many social networks to count. I'm giving up. I need friends because the isolation is promoting my severe depression.

Whilst I cannot offer you any support for real life friendships, I can say that people on here are pretty awesome and there are a lot of friends to be made here.

I also cannot offer you help in a in-person friendship, but if you ever want to chat on here my private message box is always open.

I completely understand how you feel as I was in the same situation. And I do agree with Abhorrence that VT is a great place to make great friends. However, you can only do so much with online friendships. I joined this theatre group, and I made a lot of great friends. Have you ever thought about joining a local group for other teenagers your age? Maybe even a group for homeschool students?

There aren't any in my area, unfortunately. :/

you know that there is a doctor said that it's not important to have a friend you see him/her mayby the good friend is that you don't see him/her and help more than the other one
