So this is probably gonna sound a bit stupid but..
I've worn glasses permanently for about three years now, and my mum was just talking to me about may be switching to contacts.
The main thing I'm worried about with this is how different id look, and whether I'd look worse or not...
People have told me I look better with glasses (which I know is probably just because they're used to it) but ugh
What do you guys think?

Well I don't know what you look like so I can't really comment, I personally dislike glasses as someone who is forced to wear them from time to time but if you like it than it is your choice. It shouldn't be how you look that decides something as important as eye care however so try to keep that in mind during your decisions. You can take trial periods with contacts so see the reactions of people and if they'll change to like the non-glasses you just as much. (I doubt it will be a massive deal though)

Honestly, you get use to it. I always use to think I looked better without glasses so it was never a problem for me. The reasons people get contacts is to make themselves feel better/raise their self esteem or being it's just so much more efficient, it's like you actually have good vision and sometimes I forget that I don't have perfect eye-sight, take them out and am like "fuck I can't see shit".
What I love about contacts is that it allows you to do so much more than with glasses. There's no black rim seperating the sharp lines from the blurs and you can run and lay down and smack your face against things and it's not a problem. It's honestly personal preferences and depending on how active you are, glasses sometimes aren't a problem.
I'd suggest taking the advice of the person above and do a trial with contacts. I'm not sure of prices in Aus but trials shouldn't be that expensive and it will allow you to get use to the feel of them and see peoples reactions. After a couple weeks you'll see that they won't even realise the difference, it'll just be getting use to it that causes a bit of a stir. There's no harm in trying them out. What I will say though is that if you're really on the edge leaning towards not wanting them, DON'T get them. It's not worth the money. I pay £40 per month (84.57 in Aus apparently) and that's absolutely crazy money so it's not worth it at all if you're not dead set on wanting them.
