So I have this career opportunity I have in line, I just need to call this one person. To call this person I need to go through a live operator person to transfer me over. I'm very busy and would just like to get her number so that I could call her and talk to her later. This is a pretty big company. How do I ask without sounding stalkerish or that I want to ask her out? I still need to write some stuff up so I can't have them transferring me over right then.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP! REPLIES WANTED SOON :)

go up to her and tell her you have a new phone but you can't remember your new number (it doesn't have to be real).
ask if you can call her number, so that your new phones number appears on her screen. Pretend to write down that number (or actually do write it down) you will have her number in your history

I work in a big company and part of the what I do involves transferring calls. In more or less all cases we don't even have the numbers of staff members - just internal extensions.
But regardless we can't give out the numbers or emails of staff members - it's up to the staff member to do that. It relates back to their own privacy and security, for obvious reasons. I also work in financial services where there's procedures to securely identify the customer in place and that's still the case.
You're just going to have to call through and ask to be transferred through.
