View Full Version : Demonization of sexual behaviors.

I don't understand why sex is so frowned upon by certain people (well, I actually do, it's because religion does.) But what ticks me off about it is that people will call you a "pervert" just because you are trying to make a sexual advance towards somebody when there's nothing perverted about it. Like, I would understand if you were saying stuff like "Hey girl, nice tits, wanna fuck?" or if the girl was substantially younger than you. But calling someone a pervert in a perfectly normal setting isn't appropriate. It almost seems like they don't know what pervert means...

Here's the definition of "perversion" according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary when it comes to sexual behavior:

aberrant sexual behavior (aberrant means straying from the right or normal way)

I've actually been called a pervert before for having a perfectly non-aberrant approach trying to "hook up", I just don't get it, the girl must have been a bigger prude than I thought. What do you all think?

In other words, you don't. There are many more reasons to frown upon promiscuity than solely those linked to religious teachings. Blaming everything on religion gets really old.

A woman who wants sex is a strong liberated modern woman, a man who wants sex is a perv and a creep, but only if said woman doesn't want to sleep with the man (well, unless he's doing/saying something truly inappropriate or out of place, or she is sexually conservative). A lot of women wouldn't think twice about hooking up with any male sex symbol coming up to them and saying even "nice tits, wanna fuck?"

It's the same standard we can notice in about every other sphere of society.

I'm a pervert because I play Minecraft... MAKES PERFECT SENSE!!! If you're trying to say something about my appearance due to stereotypes, look at my profile you dick. Although seeing that you are a "Right-Wing Autoritarian" I should ahve expected as such.

What does looking at your profile prove? What does political views have to do with anything?

We live in a world where hyper-sexualized behavior is glorified in our music, on TV, etc. yet we shun others when they exhibit that kind of behavior.

It's a crazy world we live in, friends.

I believe tonymontana99 is suggesting in his own brusque way that spending too much time playing vidya can have a negative effect on your social life. making some lifestyle changes and "putting yourself out there" more will open up a new world of possibilities for you, including meeting attractive women who are interested in you.

this is not to say playing vidyagames is necessarily bad. everything in moderation, yo. I play MC on occasion as a time waster, but I balance it with other things as well

or you could just keep doing things the same way you always have, get the same results and blame women and ~our judgmental society~ instead. it's effortless! (just like snarkposting)

This is true and I want to add that humanity is hypocritical and reputation conscious. It's also true someone (usually a girl) will call a boy a pervert in public and then possibly double-back in some cases and date the guy, because among their girlfriends he wasn't "approved".

It's a weird dynamic among some girl cliques. Hard to explain.

Other times when they call you a pervert that translates into "no I reject you".

Life's tough, and all is fair in love and war.

Well his assumption is invalid, because the personal experience I put was just an example, I have indeed have had girlfriends before. So assuming that I play video games too much solely on the fact that I design Minecraft Adventure maps is ludicrous. Which is also why I noted his political beliefs, because I've noticed a lot of conservatives who ignore facts to push their own agenda ( *cough Fox News *cough)

Everyone here seems to think that I'm posting this to complain...I'm not! I posted this simply because I thought it would be a good discussion, but it seems that all you people did was make assumptions and attack me about things that you know NOTHING about me. Please stop this or I will inform a moderator.

Its because of religious people brainwashing people because their imaginary friend doesnt like sex. Then again if had sex he probably wouldnt had killed all those people in the bible. what i dont understand is priest who shame you for having sex but after they go use their believe to rape kids
