Not really sure where to post this, I wouldn't really call it a "mental crisis", but I'm worried. My best friend is being forced by his parents to move from my state, Minnesota, to Florida. Which normally wouldn't be so bad as I'm not much of an emotional person... Anyway, it is the worst timing ever because we just finished eighth grade, and now I'm going into high school without my best friend who I've known since kindergarten!

Honestly, I think I'm just asking for tips on how to get through the first few days/weeks of high-school. I mean obviously I still have other friends, but I'd spend 50-75% of my time with my best friend in middle school.. Anyone I think I'm babbling here, and I suck at ending posts with good conclusions, so I'm just gonna stop writing right here.

I feel like this is a better fit here but if you want it moved back, then just ask.

You'll make new friends in high school, I promise, and it won't be so bad! You'll still be able to talk, I'm sure. High school's a stressful time for everyone and lots of people's "best friends" from middle school tend to stray away from them in high school anyways, so it won't be too much of a problem. Just go with the flow and see what happens!

I know when I went from Middle School to High School I got a lot of new friends. Yeah it will suck that your best friend is not there, but you will make it through this. High School is much better than Middle School in my opinion. Get yourself involved in a Sports Team, The Theater Department, Academic Club, Dance Planning Committee. Really whatever interested you. There is a lot to get involved in at High School. Soon you will have more friends and it won't be bad at all. Good Luck.
