Edward Siebenhuener
DEXTER, Mo. -- The principal of Kennett High School was arrested for D.W.I. here early Sunday morning. Edward S. Siebenhuener, 48, of Kennett, was arrested and charged with speeding and D.W.I. Bond was set at $568.50 and he bonded out on 50-percent cash at 6:40 a.m.
According to the arrest report, at approximately 1:23 a.m., Sergeant Charles Sanders with the Dexter Police Department was traveling west on Bus. Hwy. 60 when he noticed a vehicle traveling east at 50 m.p.h, in a 35 m.p.h. zone.
Sanders pulled the car over near Bus. 60 and Harris Dr.
The officer said he could smell alcohol on Siebenhuener's breath and that his eyes were watery and bloodshot. When asked whether he had been drinking, Siebenhuener responded that he had two drinks.
Siebenhuener was then asked to perform some field sobriety tests. He failed all three of the tests administered.
He then submitted to a breath test where his blood alcohol content (B.A.C.) was recorded at .133-percent. The legal limit in Missouri is .08-percent.
Jerry Noble, superintendent of Kennett Public Schools, issued the following statement: "As educators we all must understand that what we do in our personal lives and on our own time impacts our ability to do our jobs, and that there are consequences for our actions. Although I am not at liberty to discuss specific consequences regarding personnel issues, I can assure you that Mr. Siebenhuener has accepted responsibility for his actions, and I believe appropriate action was taken in addressing this matter."
According to calls placed to the newspaper Tuesday morning, Siebenhuener called an assembly Tuesday morning and apologized for his behavior and announced that he had been suspended without pay for two weeks.
Siebenhuener was not available for comment regarding his statement at the assembly, and as of press time had not returned calls to the newspaper.
This was my principal before I moved lol this is very fitting.
