My end of year report card stated that the number of school detentions i'd had over the entire school year (39 weeks) was 76. i knew i had gotten a lot but not that many

Does anyone else get into bother much in school?:whoops:

Never been to detention, because we don't have that where I live.

It's so funny you ask. This reminded me of this photo set that I have from a long time ago, middle school I think.

That was one of a handful that year, and throughout high school.. I got suspended that same year I think, though it could have been the following year. Oh good old times. The principal at the middle school was my neighbors (and best friend) stepdads friend, so we'd kind of cross paths outside of school sometimes and it was so awkward, given my history with him. I regret a lot of my actions though, and my sassyness and sheer inability to be respectful.. and he knows that. Still makes me laugh though, looking back. "lawl"

When I went to public school I got recess detention twice in 3rd grade. Once was for drawing my fist out because these kids surrounded me bullying me. The other was for this girl making an false accusation that I called her an asshole. I thought it. I just didn't say it lol

So really, my detentions were for me getting bullied and my principal never believing me.

I had detention just once in my life (yeah, I am too goody goody).

I told my teacher to "shut up" and she doesn't "know how it feels" (so emo) after I got called on to answer a question. Don't know wtf I was thinking. :|

Detention isn't a thing here in Brazil, so none for me

I'm going to be a sophomore in high school when the next year starts, and I've only gotten one detention in my life.

I got a fair few in my first three years of secondary, for fighting, arguing, skipping class and being a general dick. Then in year 10 I calmed down and only got like four and they were all for arguing with teachers but I had genuine reasons to these times. In year 11 I had no detentions :)

hey Riley, don't worry about the record of the number of detentions you got. I used to get into a lot of trouble in school, got sent to the principals office from when I was 8-13 every year, sometimes it was my fault, but most of the time it wasn't. I was just a kid who wanted to be heard and didn't know how to express myself while everyone was coming down so hard on me so I just made a scene when I couldn't take it anymore. It did make me feel pretty awful. I don't know if you feel the same way, but if you do then I'm hoping this makes you feel better. Oh and for the record in middle school I think I was late 7 times in my sophomore year even though I lived right next to school xD
My school only gave out detention after the 3rd time you're late so that would mean I got 4 detentions that year but I remember receiving more than that though.

Hey, well detention doesn't really bother me much. Each detention is only 1 hour out of my life

I don't think its cool to keep having them or anything to feel proud of, it just doesn't bother me when i get them

I know i have had loads from my maths teacher as i am so bad in maths, i perform so bad and she gives me loads of punishments as she thinks i am lazy and don't care about my maths. I just really hate maths and don't get it

My PE teacher hates me and thinks i am too rough sometimes during sport, i get punished each time.

I've been ordered to Thursday school three times in 12th grade (since thursday was our early dismissal day, they would just have us stay until 6PM doing homework or something else productive). But I always found some excuse or convinced some higher-up that I shouldn't have to go to it, and got dropped from it every time.

I was a very manipulative senior :')

I used to get about 1-2 detentions per year. All for homework not done.

It's not that I almost always did my homework, it's that I never did it and the teachers very rarely checked. Even then, the teachers generally knew I had very good grades and rarely sent me to detention even when they checked my homework.

There was one time where I did detention for something else, it was in Catholic education class and I blasphemed within earshot of the teacher (and yes, until 2008 parents could sign us up for religious education in public schools, and no matter how much I pleaded with them to be sent to philosophy class instead, I went through religious education classes for 11 years of my life). It was a pretty long string too. Oops.

After that the teacher absolutely hated my guts and kept failing me for no reason at all. I'd give a paper easily worth 90% and it'd come back marked 40%. It was crazy how much she despised me. Thankfully the class didn't affect our GPA and you could pass the year even if you failed it (when my mom went to school, if you failed Catholic education you failed the year), so even if I failed the class with a nice 43%, I still had a 91% average.

Fuck that class.

I usually get like one a week, either for not doing homework or just not paying attention to anything in class.

The worst bit is that sometimes I'd do my homework but forget it at home and get detention anyway

I got very few detentions. But that was because a lot of times I got away because my record was so clean they couldn't believe I was involved. Plus I've mastered the art of making innocent faces so :P

I can only recall 2 in grade 8 for talking to the same girl in two different classes. I got into so much trouble at home (missed the bus because of it and my mom had to drive 15 miles to pick me up) I concluded I wanted no more.

btw, I think it is wrong to give detentions for not turning in homework if a grade is given on the assignment. That seems double penalty!

Twice, both for missing class because of oversleeping. I don't do a lot of bad things, but I'm really bad at getting to school on time :D

Its not in our school system to get detention. And in a normal week I dont notice anything that would require detention to any student. I dont think its just because I go to a school of angels. Thats just how it is here. Detention is not our way. And trouble is not something you bring to your school.

Teachers are really strict with detentions at my school. We have lunch time detentions, which go for 20 minutes and afterschool detentions which go for an hour. Its just writing lines, but sometimes in afterschool you pick up rubbish or if something needs to be set up, cause of a meeting or something, then gotta move tables and chairs and shit around the school.

I got 2 afterschool detentions from walking away from a teacher, I don't really think they should be wasting 2 hours of my time, because of walking away and the teacher was annoying the fuck out of me. Also every period bunk = lunch time.

Mostly due to shit that wasn't even my fault. I was guilty by association so I got into trouble.
