I'm really crap at maths and placed in the bottom set.

In contrast i'm top set in English. I'm good in food tech, PE, History, Science. I go ok in Geography. But Maths is the mental block for me and i can't seem to get past it. My maths teacher has even placed me in detentions with her because she thinks i am just being lazy and she sat with me to try and do some extra work with me. I have been given one of those teaching assistance for my maths lessons and the other boys in the class find it hilarious. Even they do better at maths than i do, i'm like the bottom boy in the bottom set :whoops:

Anyone else crap at maths? Anyone who is really good can give some tips on how to improve?

Meh, I used to be like you.
I knew what the math problems would be in our tests, so I asked someone to help me solve them before the test, and then i'd just memorize the equations and write them down during the tests.
But this is how our teacher was - if you skipped a test, she'd give you the same test.
Thing is, one kid would usually make a picture of the whole test and then share it with the ones who were absent.

I'd suggest you don't do this, but try to seek help from your teacher. I did seek help at the last year, and it was easy as fuck once it was properly explained.
You can also seek help from your classmates about formulas, etc.
Work together, that's how it's done.

The thing is cos we're all in the bottom class we're all kinda bad at it, its just i seem to be the worst!

My teacher does help me but she is quick to punish too for what she perceives as laziness. Plus now i have the teaching assistant

I really don't like maths if i'm honest, i like to use a calculator or just look things up online to know the answer  i need to try and enjoy it more and try harder :whoops:

I really love English and Science and PE and Food Tech and i do great in those

LOL, you don't enjoy maths until you understand what you're doing. It's hard to enjoy it for most. :P

Don't be afraid to ask really stupid ass questions to your teacher. If you don't get all your questions answered, you won't get anywhere.
Looking things online for maths did not help me at all.
