i hope someone can answer this...

my henna doesn't look right. I have attached pictures please help!

I love henna and I applied some about... Maybe 3 days ago. I had left it on for about 6 hours. At about 4 hours into it being left on, it went flaky like it was ready to be scraped off but I left it on longer because I wanted a really dark stain.

When I took it off, there were really stubborn bits that wouldn't come off so I had to literally scrape them with my fingernails hard so that they came off. It looked very dark and very nice when I took it off.

Now, about three days later, I noticed that there was a very faint stain UNDER a darker one that looked cracked. I thought that maybe I hadnt scraped all the top layer off after all so I decided to scrub and wash as much as I could off. There is a tiny faint stain beneath this. I have attached photos.

I haven't ever heard of leaving henna on too long, or it not coming off propally. Does the stain look normal to you? I have scrubbed and washed it really hard three days after playing it. Thanks for any help!

I think you scrubbed/washed too much initially, and that's why it looks faded/faint in some areas. The fact you left it on longer to get a darker stain probably explains why it's harder to get it off. I'm not a huge expert on henna, but I figure it will just take some time for it to come off entirely.

Cool pic, by the way :0

Ok, correct me if I misunderstood your post, but the way I understand henna to work is that you leave it on for awhile, and then take it off. This stains your skin, which lasts for a long period of time. Maybe you left it on too long, and so the henna formula stuck to your skin more? The henna on your fingers looks darker than normal, while the henna on the top of your hand looks fainter than normal (because of all the scrubbing?). I would stop scrubbing to keep from harming your skin. Look online for other cases, I'm not that informed on henna, I just love the designs :)

have you put henna on before? maybe your skin had a weird reaction to it, if this is your first time.

Usually when ever I get henna done and it starts to fade away it kind of looks like what you described almost spotting and layers. it's normal and goes away. just keep washing your hands and scrubbing and it will go away faster

Looks like a henna that has faded. I've never done a henna tattoo or had one done on me but I've seen them before and they start to look faded like that after a little while and after washing/showering with them. It doesn't look red or irritated in the photo, is it now? If not then I would guess that you maybe didn't do the process correctly or washed off too much of it, so it faded more quickly.

Nope, completely normal. Indian brides leave mehndi on over night before wedding days so there's no need to ever worry about leaving it on for TOO long. The longer, the darker. I've often worn plastic bags over my hands/feet when I was sleeping just to get it a bit darker xD Sometimes when you try and wash it off with water rather than scraping/peeling it off it goes that colour and kind of sticky but 3 days after it'll just be the fade. No need to worry, if there's no irritation then it's just running its course.

It could be you scratched your skin, it could also be a alergic reaction.

Either way i sugest desinfecting and using a cream with Dekspantenol or some aloe or something. If it doesnt dodown see a doc
