Im visiting my friend in Portland and he wants to hang out with his girlfriend. He asked me to come with him and I said I don't want to third wheel him. Then he said that she has a friend. He keeps pressing me to come, but I have severe social anxiety, and haven't had a lot of social interactions. It's so bad that I'm taking one of the highest doses of medication they can give me. I told him I didn't want to go, and now he's pissed off because his parents won't let him go if I don't. I don't know what to do. I don't know how to tell him or what. Help

Just tell him you're not comfortable going, or you can pull the "Blame Your Parents" card, and say something like; "I'm sorry, but my mom doesn't want me going out because (insert reason here)". He should be more understanding if he's your friend.

I tried both of those things he still kept pushing and I'm not from Portland we're visiting. He's stopped trying because we're going to dinner, but I feel like it'll be an awkward dinner.

Also he's completely stopped talking to me.

He's kind of being a jerk and is definitely being inconsiderate. Plus, it seems like he mainly wants you there so he can get the go-ahead from his parents to go out with his girlfriend. If you're visiting him, he should be making an effort to accomodate you and what you want.

Yea but we've literally been friends for life and I don't want this one thing to ruin the longest friendship I've had.

That's happened before with my friends and they always get over it after awhile. If he doesn't maybe he isn't as good of a friend as you thought.

Yep, seems like he just wants to have you there so his parents permit him to go.

Tell him you don't want this to ruin your friendship. If he keeps being butt hurt for a long time, then that ain't a true friend anymore. Friends always forgive and respect each other.
