I used this (http://venturebeat.com/2015/07/29/how-to-download-and-install-windows-10-without-using-windows-update/) to update my PC to Windows 10.

You can go to your Control Panel, and check for updates. It should be there if you have all the current updates for your current Windows already installed.
I had problems even though I had the update app on my computer. I have read that a lot of people are having this issue because their current Windows (before Windows 10) didn't have all the current updates installed.
I was running Windows 7, and when I checked I still had six updates for Windows 7 that I needed to install. Only after that did I see the update for Windows 10 (when I waited a bit after updating and then checked for updates again).

Is Wndows Ten worth getting (In America and PC is back in Holland). Or should I not even bother?

Haven't used it enough yet to give a fair answer, sorry. I can say that I haven't had any problem yet though. Some things are rearranged from where they were before, but they have been easy enough to find.

Ah I see. I never got into Windows 8 so not sure if I'll like 10. But we'll see.

I never had Windows 8 either, but supposedly this is a combination of Windows 7 and Windows 8. It's taking some adjusting for me, but I think it will be fine for me very soon. It seems to know what you want to do when you go looking for stuff.

My laptop still has Windows 8.1, I haven't received the upgrade notification yet. I hope I get it soon, because I don't want to "force" the upgrade.

Windows 10 is rolling out in batches. You might not get the notification for several weeks.
I didn't get the notification however you can download the download tool from Microsofts website here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
You might want to create a back up before updating, even if you get a notification update. However I had no issues when updating two computers :)

I can't wait to give Windows 10 a try! Nothing's popped up for me yet though... Hopefully soon I guess.

I strongly advise not to update right now, it still has plenty of bugs and incompatibilities, a friend of mine had a lot of problems, he simply couldn't run any applications, I'd wait some more weeks and then update.

I did it yesterday ^_^ Just checked the update app and it was there :3 It was already downloaded and it took about an hour to fully upgrade.

Windows 10 is great! They did very well fixing the multitude of bugs that were springing up during the few weeks before release, and I mean there were a metric ton. I'm liking the direction Microsoft if going in. As far as updating make sure what you currently have is up to date, it may take a while before you get the notification. And if it doesn't maybe the beta page is still up. ☺
