Ok first of all the sad truth is that a lot of the labor in our food supply is dominated by illegal immigrants. The truth is that they do the bad jobs that no American wants to do. I am not sure how biased vice news is but they have a whole documentary about the impact illegal immigrants have in the dairy industry.

Well if you're talking about true socialism on a nationwide scale, then yes. But if you are talking about technocratic medium-sized welfare states, you are wrong. Well if you're talking about true socialism on a nationwide scale, then yes. But if you are talking about technocratic medium-sized welfare states, you are wrong. Finland and Sweden are pretty successful. Sweden might have issues immigration-wise but who are Americans to call them out on that [emoji23].

Usually the agreed upon ideal for a large nation is capitalist with some welfare. Smaller countries can be different and you could be like Singapore where it is nearly laissez-faire but with an authoritarian regime.

Sweden was dying until it started drilling for oil on a massive scale. Almost their entire country is propped up by it right now. That's not the best example for success, since it's almost impossible to fail under those circumstances.

And considering wide-scale socialism fails repeatedly and the only moderate success story is a nation that can't really fail, I'd say the track record is pretty awful.

welfare : Should always be available, for me exeptions may be self caused / preventable harm.
gay rights : Should be able to financialy marry (or whatever it's called when you share posessions (or not depending on where you are)) and I don't care if it's officialy a wedding or not; if you want to wed via a church and the church doesn't support it who cares, make your own ceremony and just call it something else. I personaly don't see the fuss about wanting to participate and the most boring worn out "romantic" tradition there is.

military : Should not be obligatory, and should not be overly funded to avoid arms-race like situations.
marijuana : Should be legally available, with semi-strict regulations on owning plants yourself and selling only with a a permit for example. Preferably a lot of emphasis on safe use, to avoid too much smoke inhalation, safe ways of smoking (if smoked) and promoting edibles and oils including for medical use.
