Hi, I'm 13 years old and I want a job. Ok...I want money :D

My ideal job would be babysitter, but if I was a parent, I probably wouldn't let a 13 yr old babysit so I don't think that I'm old enough even though I am really REALLY good with kids and I love them (most of them)!

could someone suggest when a good age for babysitting/childminding would be?

At the moment, my dads getting me set up with eBay so that I can sell some old stuff for a profit.

some imfomation that might help:

I'm good with kids (like I said)
I'm good with animals (especially dogs but pretty much all animals as long as their not exotic)
I'm responcible
I'm good at handling money
I'm very organised and tidy
I am very creative and I'm good at all things arty (and I enjoy art as a bonus)
I have quite a lot of time as it's the summer hols (where I live, we get 6 week and I've had my first though!)

i need a lot of sleep (so no paper rounds)
I want something that wont be too boring (if your stuck for suggestions don't worry too much about this one)

Im decorating my room at the moment and I have about £300 that's about $468 so I'm a really good saver. (I get £5 or $7.8 pocket money each week. I know that this is already a lot and I'm really grateful to my parents but the thing is...)

DECORATING A BEDROOM IS REALLY EXPENSIVE. So I've put my £300 pounds towards paint and floorboards it and my parents are helping me out with the rest of the floor and paint. Which I'm really grateful for.

any extras like a rug or a new matching lampshade which I need, I pay for myself.

I'd really appriciate any suggestions that a 13 year old could have as a job

Ask your neighbours if they got work to do. Going out with the dog and similar stuff

I think 16-17 is a good age to start babysitting if someone trusts you enough to hire you. You can earn money by trying to get small jobs from your parents and neighbours, you are too young still for any real job yet. Mowing lawns and washing cars are usually good ones to earn some money, you won't get a big amount but you can save up.

You're not gonna find many jobs at your age. Most places require 16+ people. Maybe, like, a paper route but I see you're against that idea. Otherwise, you could do some chores for bucks, like pulling your neighbor's weeds or some bullshit like that. Or babysitting.

hey! i'm 13 too and yeah, it's kinda hard to find work /anywhere/. considering you've just hit the legal age, people will want someone who is more experienced, and you can't exactly give them that. you're legally only allowed to do what is classed as 'light work', and the same goes for when you're 14, too. that means you can tidy up in little shops around your town, or do paper rounds, which you've stated is not ideal. babysitting in the uk is /recommended/ for people over 14, so maybe wait until then? the only other thing you can do is ask neighbours if they need any help, so with stuff like groceries, pets, etc. when you're 15 you're given a lot more leeway, so just hold out until then and you should be fine!

Most work for thirteen year olds comes from family friends or family members. The only jobs I can think of that are available properly then are paper rounds and sticking up at skittles.

if you parents have a car, ask they to wash the car for a few coins

You could open a blogshop. My sister did that when she was 13 and earned some pocket money to spend for herself. Be careful though, there's a possibility that you might be scammed or worse, be hurt by the customers that you meet outside, if you were to pass them the goods in person. So let your parents know if you're going to do anything like that. What my sister did was she got clothes from a supplier and then modified them at home before selling them. I thought it was really cool. You get to learn so many things.
