Since there is no way to lose localised fat, you'll just have to lose weight by doing cardio exercises (bicycling, running, jogging, swimming, etc...) and by adopting a healthy diet (cutting on sugar, fats and fizzy drinks, especially). When you eventually notice that the thickness of the fat layer in your abdomen area has been significantly reduced, it is then time to develop your abs by doing sit-ups, crunches, obliques, etc.

Absolutely - where fat tends to get stored is controlled by sex hormones so guys get a beer gut whereas with girls it tends to be more distributed but often noticeable on ass and thighs.

Don't under-estimate the effect of diet. We are surrounded by foods high in calories from fat, sugar and refined flour with almost no fibre in them so it possible to eat them to considerable excess before feeling full. If you look at the calories in some of these foods you would find you would have to do a lot of exercise to burn off the excess. Eating a balanced, i.e. with enough protein and vitamins, not just carbs and fat, will make you less likely to feel hungry as will exercising.

On the exercise front try to do at least the minimum recommended. Here in the UK for 5-18 year olds the NHS recommends 60 minutes a day. For adults 19-64 it recommends 150 minutes/week. See Physical activity guidelines for adults (http://www.nhs.uk/livewell/fitness/pages/physical-activity-guidelines-for-adults.aspx).

If that doesn't get results the next thing is to try logging things, for example with an app like my fitness pal.

Firstly, you should create your calories balance and deliver to your organism less calories than in this balance. Secondly, workout plan with aerobics ( full body workout is the best choice for beginners) and diet. Diet is the most important. You must eat less and it must be healthy food ( brown rice, oatmeal, fruits, vegetables, rye bread instead of white bread). Avoid junk food and fizzy drink and you will achieve your goal. :)

Lower your body fat, just burn the fat by burning more energy than your consuming whether it's exercising more or eating less. It doesn't mean your fat but most people can use a little less anyway.

This. But also lots of abs and planks and stuff. And always mix up your routines. Eat high protein (but make sure you are consuming less calories since the only way to lose fat is to burn more calories than you consume).

Some have the bad luck of central fat...I used to be skinny as hell when I got alarmed by a small tummy roll my GF picked up..But my GF thought getting me to put on is cute and this gave me and excuse to gorge on all junk food....In 2 yrs I ballooned 20+ kg and my 26" waist is nw 35"......all fat got settled in my belly, butt and upper thighs and gave me mboos too..

but my arms and lower legs are still pretty skinny....I can still pass for my former skinny self when dressed....But when I take my top off my tummy is really flabby and now its forming a small belly roll too....And if I take my pants off to swim etc my big butt and thighs make my undies look really skimpy...

On top of that recently I found that I've still got a small hole in my heart and I'm limited to "mild physical activity" ...that ended my chance of working out too..

I would start to eat more fibre (fruits, nuts, vegetables) and fat (not as harmful as thought before, helps with feeling of fullness (satiety)), less meat more cheese and plain yoghurt, less carbohydrates (white bread). Hectic workouts might not help, just slow change of life style which is not always possible

You can do crunches and lift waits all you want but that's just going to strengthen the muscles underneath. Cardio and swimming is the best way to loose weight. I lost 8 pounds the first two weeks of swim practice. It's a great way to get in shape and I didn't have to control my diet.

As far as firming up your abs do sit ups or crunches. Your Moobs as you call them can be helped by doing flies with lightweight and high repetitions. Also eating healthy and a jog everyday would help as well.

The moobs you can help by doing chest presses and upper body exercises. the abs part is the hardest for guy since it's where you store all your fat, whereas in women it goes straight to our butt/hips. Only way you can lose that is if you lose weight everywhere and then you'll eventually see the impact on your stomach.

Totally agree with Living for Love !
Diet is PRIMO, imo, when ure trying to "cut up." My doc recommended a high protein, but BALANCED diet, and it worked wonders. If you are looking to cut up (gain muscularity and loose the layer(s) of fat) you have to take in less calories than you expend. Just NO OTHER way around that !

Diet and fitness is a multi BILLION dollar industry because many people don't want to put in the work and just pop a pill, or supplement, or shake, and expect the results you see on TV. Dude, it JUST DOESNT HAPPEN that way. You have to dedicate, commit, and put in the the work. If you do it right, it is FUN and you can get a buzz from knowing you are doing something good for yourself and seeing the results !

When I started i did mostly "full body" workouts meaning a multi bodypart program. Now, my best friend and I (met him at the gym) have a dedicated and designed workout program targeting specific muscle groups on specific days, with cardio (running and jogging) as part of the program.

Good luck ! PM when I hit 100 !!!!
