Any boys on here play rugby? I love it and football but most of the boys I know just stick with footie. I love both

Rugby is great. Sadly im never going to be a tackler because of my body type, i would snap my collar bones. But i love rugby so i normally try and run on the wings. Getting tackled is always hilarious though

Rugby is the best sport. I wish could play it. Even when I was allowed to I wasn't that good. Used to play on the wings because I'm not big enough to go on the scrum.

Still the best sport though.

rugby is not as popular over here in America, but it is starting to get some more and more fan base. a lot of colleges will have a rugby club and they play against other colleges. I play American football and I would like to try rugby sometime, even though I know there are a number of differences

I had to play rugby during PE at school. I enjoyed it the first ever time I played it, I really got into it. And then the second time I played I got kicked in the face and a chunk of my lip basically came off? So, uh, that put 12 year old me off of sport. Like, literally, before that happened I was into football, swimming, cycling, tennis and other stuff. But then injury happened and I think it just subconsciously made me not want to do anything physical again.

Well that's normal. I had a couple of concussions from football. my parents were not crazy about me playing this season, but because I am not playing in college or whatever they are letting me. those types of injuries can turn you away. there was a player for the 49ers, a rookie, had an amazing season, retired after his first season because he was concerned about his health.

from what I have seen in rugby, it can be at times an even more violent sport than football (though I would also argue a lot of times in football you got bigger guys trying to hit you).

that is crazy though what happened. if apart of my lip came off at 12 playing football or whatever, I'd probably have given up sports too

Everyone told me I looked like something out of saw because of all the blood coming from my mouth haha, I'm just lucky I didn't lose any teeth. But yeah, sport isn't for me [emoji14]

actually, now that you mention that, I have a friend who was on a college rugby team and he lost some teeth during a game. although I am going to miss football, for health reasons (concussions are no joke) it is probably good this is going to be my last year

Rugby is much rougher than football from my experience. But its a great way for boys to let off some steam

Here in America, rugby isn't really all that popular, but we still play it. Most of the time it's just standard American football you will find here.

Rugby is not that widely known or played here in Canada but I started playing last year in Middle School and continued this year in High School- it's super fun! I disagree with people who say its violent and I think if you play with the proper technique and more importantly know how to fall properly when you are tackled it's no more dangerous thN other contact sports.

Oh and I play scrum-half :)
