*Sorry that this is so long*
So I met this very nice pretty girl at my camp a week ago,she sat by me all the time, played basketball with me and even admitted that if dating was allowed at the camp she would have asked me out.I have tried calling her and the connection didn't go through.Could it be a fake number? I tried her Facebook and it had pictures of her but she hasn't used it since January. She gave me her address to send love letters (she deliberately said that) so I wrote her a letter and it's kinda long, three pages of small notebook paper front and back so sixAt the end I decided to ask if she would like to go see a movie or have dinner with me sometime after several paragraphs explains what I like about her and how I feel about her.Was that a good idea? The thing is I'm 15 and she's getting close to 18.Do you find that okay or wrong for us to date? It's okay as long as you don't have sex as consent laws are against that as rape for the older partner except for an exception when you turn 16.I've been thinking about her so much recently that all I want to do is think about her,my appetite isn't as much as it used to be and I just stare into space sometimes thinking about her sometimes not even doing work from thinking about her. I'm deeply in love with her but I'm not sure if this relationship would be socially acceptable.I can't wait for a reply letter or phone call.

Ah well, I personally think once you turn sixteen you can go for it. Since then it is legally consensual and all that jazz. But I mean it is your life and your decision you cannot allow anybody to take that away from you and try to swerve you away from doing what you want just because they deem it inappropriate. I mean, this obviously doesn't relate to all areas of life because I wouldn't suggest murdering someone because you don't care what people think.

I am 17 and my girlfriend turned 15 last december. Avoid sex until you are 16, we haven't done it but the law isn't preventing us since the AoC here is 14. Try Facebook and if she doesn't answer in a day or two, call her on the phone.

Aw that's so cute. Sure man, go for it; you're not in trouble for dating someone at that age unless you have sex with her. Go for it. Love should not be denied! Good luck

I have dated 2 to 4 years older. No problem. Dated 2 years younger, big problem with maturity: the lack thereof. Just me.

Age and distance are just a number when it comes to love. Thanks everybody for your replies, they've really helped.I said before that she's not active on Facebook and hasn't been for months and her cell number wasn't working when I tried calling her two days ago.I think I will try to call her again today and then send the letter I wrote for her.

You already got the answer for yourself, and I understand how you feel :) If you haven't sent the letter it's probably time to send it and see what happens. Don't have too high an expectation yet.. she certainly had a crush on you and wanted to date you at the camp, but we don't know whether she still has this feeling when she's back to reality, especially if she's surrounded by other guys.

Yeah,I understand.I'm not really expecting as much as I wrote;probably much less. The last day when everybody leaves is always a sad time but then she did something unexpected, she kept distancing herself from me and then wouldn't talk to me much.I don't know what that was about. That's why I wish her phone would work or she would pick up so I could talk with her.So I'm kinda expecting a not so good reply back or no reply at all.But then again,if I wrote my letter well,I might get a good response.

Yeah.. let's hope for the best but prepare for the worst. It's really hard to accept a not so good reply or no reply. In any case, let us know how things go. :)

How very deftly put, Jack :P
From the information I have been provided with, there seems to be nothing clearly wrong with this relationship. As long as you are careful and safe, like any other potential relationship, then I think this could turn into something great. Chase your love, and go for it.
Good luck, bud.

Give her some time. If, after 2 weeks, she has said not a word she might have been playing you tho. But until then, be of good hope

Update: She accepted my friend request and messaged me on Facebook. We had the basic greetings and then she said she got the letter. She said she liked it and it was very sweet but she told me "I'm not looking for a relationship at the moment" then said she'd love to hang out with me though. Then back to small talk like how was your day and such.I'm pretty sure I've been friend zoned but I guess there's a way to work out of it.Any advice on what I should do here on out?

Make plans and try to find out a schedule which works to hang out as friends.
Yeah she's not interested romantically and that might always be the case, but then again it could change.
The important thing is to live in the moment and neither dwell on the past nor in the presumption of what the future could bring.

Thanks, that really helps! That's what I needed to improve my mood today, thanks.According to her, she's very busy most of August and she shot down my plans to meet somewhere for lunch basically.I think I will ask if she'd like to go to a few of my schools football or basketball games.

If she's 18, then she's probably digging 30 year old males, you know, because of their "maturity" complex.

Lol, what?
30 year olds is a lot for a 18 year old girl, bro, unless the girl wants to be around a 30 year old male who has a stable economy income to suck on.
