OK, I don't know where this should go, but I figured anything can go here, so please move if not right place.
So, basically, I have this really weird repulsion to taking my pulse, especially at the wrist. My friend has it too, but not as badly.
Pretty much what happened was I had to take my pulse after lying, sitting, walking, and jogging. The first time I just felt a little nauseated. The next time I began to feel really sick, and dizzy. Then I got cold and felt clammy, and when it was all over, my friend, who also suffered from this a little, but not nearly so much as i did, said I looked really pale.
So I know other people don't particularly like taking their pulse, but is it normal for all of this to happen to someone???

Sounds like you're just squeamish. It makes sense, it can be a little frightening or disgusting to think about your heart beating inside of you (which is what your pulse is, right?). Do things like blood freak you out, as well? A lot of people can't handle things like that. When a friend and I took CPR classes, she nearly threw up when they were talking about, "If someone has something stuck in their arm, don't remove it, yatta yatta," and when I got my wisdom teeth out and had to rinse the sockets for the first time, I nearly fainted (man is not meant to have holes in its mouth). It's normal. I don't know how you might be able to get over it, or if it's possible, but if you have to deal with taking your pulse in the future, remind yourself that it's just your pulse, it's just your heart beating, it's a normal thing. And remember to breathe.

I don't have that strong of a reaction to taking my pulse, but I hate how it feels. The thing that I hate is when I lay on my left side, I can feel my heartbeat. It is really uncomfortable. But no, I don't get sick or anything.

I think this is normal to be a squmish person.

As everyone said, I would just say it's because you're squeamish. You have roughly 5 to 6 liters of blood in your body. It can be a scary thought to think about that pulsing through you. I'd just assume it's because of that, nothing serious. Now that I've made you think about that, yes you can hate me. :P But I think it's the same kind of thing why people get squeamish about having the blood drawn.

Actually, blood doesn't freak me out at all. In fact, I once cut myself on a sharp when finding/recycling soda cans I found lying around the field at my school, and lots of blood pored out, and I actually thought it was pretty cool, and was reluctant to put a band-aid on it.

Again, I'm not scared of blood within my body, and I don't even think my heart beating is gross. In fact, I enjoy being able to feel my heartbeat through my chest, or side, or whatever, just not my pulse.....
