View Full Version : Forget Physical, what about emotional?

I see tons of threads here regarding the physical changes of puberty, but what do you guys think about the emotional changes?
Personally, I dislike(hate) way more than I did 2-3 years ago, like a lot of things, find joy and lose it a lot more, and just experience the roller coaster of emotions. Anyone else? I may just be a moody person idk lol. But I have definitely noticed I feel angry, sad, glad, and all of the in between a whole lot more than I have before, which is expected.
Have any of you noticed this? Stories welcome :)

Yeah I'm usually a pretty calm guy but sometimes when I'm alone and I think about something bothering me I can get pretty angry and aggressive but never to the point that I would harm or offend anyone

Well when I started puberty at like 11 or 12 I was also going through some really bad times at home and so it mixed in a lot with mood swings and everything and eventually it developed into depression and other things. So I don't really know how "normal" emotional changes are during puberty because mine have been so bad, excessive mood swings ranging from outright insanity to the lowest of the lows, severe anxiety and everything else. I guess it wasn't assisted by the effects of puberty, either.

Mood swings do happen through puberty, although I can't say I've had many. When I was 12-14 I was a little dick (no pun intended) so I guess it may be an early puberty thing? I've heard of girls having intense mood swings during puberty in general but I'm not sure for guys. Sounds normal though

I find that I'm more short tempered than I used to be. I find myself getting angry and grumpy over the slightest things

I was having really bad mood swings from 12-14 but now I don't get them as often as I used to.

I think the biggest change i've noticed in my adolescent years is that you start to get more affectionate feelings for people. I was never having relations two years ago by choice, then suddenly it changed. I'm guessing hormones ? Idk. It's pretty common in everyone as they age. ✌

I think I've started to have those "affectionate feelings for people" also.

My emotions go all over the place, 100 times faster than I can keep track of, and they are way more intense than they were a few years ago. So you have a good point, the changes aren't just physical, its emotional too, and that parts actually harder to deal with than the physical part.
