I know that not many people here would describe themselves as "gamers" by any means, but I feel compelled to share this news that is personally heartbreaking.

Mr. Iwata has lead Nintendo since 2002 and kept the company that has touched the hearts and joined millions at the top for 13 years.
As a person who grew up with virtually no peers, games were my escape from any sort of issues I came across, whether they were bullying, family, or school related. Nintendo has entertained me for the years where I had no other means of enjoying myself, and even now, and I have Mr. Iwata to thank for spearheading this company. I will always support Nintendo, and I will forever be thankful for the work that Mr. Iwata has put into it. He's made a lot of people like me smile in dark times with his work, and he will be desperately missed.

On another note nintendo's stock fell 4% on the news of his passing.
I do wonder where the company is headed next and how that will affect the development of products as well as services.
Nintendo, for better or worse, is following a directional course in large part to Mr.Iwata.
Focus on family friendly games versus becoming the $600 competitor alongside XBone (Microsoft) and Playstation line (Sony).

One of my friends texted me about this last night. It's pretty sad and unfortunate that he's gone, but he sure leaves behind a damn fine legacy. RIP Mr. Iwata.

I'm not sure who was more sad to hear this, me or my little brother. May he rest in peace.

Question is not how the world will move on, the question is will Nintendo be a part of that world going forward and if so what will it be like for current fans and investors of Nintendo.

"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer."

I had all the Nintendo consoles and games as a kid. It was fun. Iwata was so young too!
