I'm in year 12 now and will graduate next year (hopefully) but I don't know what to do afterwards. I've been thinking about going to uni but I don't know what degree to get. I also have an idea to do a gap year and travel the whole world but that would cost me a kidney (or maybe two!).
Has anyone ever been in this situation? Please I need advice.

I've never been in this situation because I'm only in tenth grade. :P
But, nevertheless, you'll have to work this out somehow and traveling the world is not the way to do it. I'm not sure how you'd pay to travel the world, but you'd probably regret it once you come home and find yourself virtually broke. My advice: Find a successful line of work that pays well and do your best at it for a while and try the waters. Save the traveling for retirement as your reward.

Are online classes a possibility? That way, you could potentially get your travelling done, while staying on top of your education. I'm in the same boat as you, and that's kind of what I want to do.

I'd totally go for the gap year. Or gap 6 months. Or 3 months. Or whatever you can afford. And its not like backpacking is very expensive. If you run out of cash, just skip the hostel and sleep in the park or couchsurf.

Wow that's actually a good idea! I know I'll need some more time after graduating to think about the next step and I could do a gap less than a year. Thanks man.

I don't think I would able to concentrate about studying and traveling at the same time ha ha.

You're welcome. But if it all goes wrong, or if Rainbow Dash turns out to be right, don't come back and yell at me!
If its less than a year, you might have to choose a region or a couple countries. So, where to?
