I dont know if im in the right section but i just wanted to ask you guys something. this weekend i am going up to my cousins college to hang out with him and his girlfriend. im going to stay in his dorm for one night and he asked me if i wanted to get drunk with him. i was just wondering if this is a bad thing to do. i am 15 and he is 19 but like i know were not gonna get caught and also there will be no parents around. i dont know if i should do this or not. in a way i really want to but in a way i do not. so please just answer if you think this would be bad or okay. theres not much harm that could happen right?

There's TONS of harm that could happen. With three teenagers being drunk with no one around and you being the youngest, that is one of the most stupid things you could do in your life. There are so many things that could happen, people could get violent, his girlfriend might look really hot to you when you're drunk, and all that's going to come out of it is a horrible hangover. Think about it. Is it really worth it for a little fun that will seem eternities away when you wake up? Don't do it is my fervent plea.

Your going to be with a 19 year old.. if anything happens or you get too fucked (you dont exactly sound like a drinker) then im sure he will be more sober than you and able to look after you. getting drunk isnt that dangerous..

The fact that you aren't sure about what you want to do obviously means something. Your body is obviously telling you that it doesn't seem to be a good idea so listen to it.
Getting drunk is nothing special and all it will do is leave you feeling very sick the next morning, at the absolute minimum. It can cause you to do stupid things and you'll have impaired judgment. How can you be comfortable with the fact that by drinking you'll no longer be in control of your actions which can lead you to do stupid things.
Saying getting drunk isn't dangerous is just simply ignoring the facts. So many people who get drunk get behind the wheel and drive, and the passengers who are drunk as well, get in, crash and kill themselves or other innocent people.
Or one of you can pass out and later vomit, which can then cause you to choke on your own vomit and die.
One of you can get sick to the point where you're left with no choice but to call the paramedics and then boom you're busted and talking with the police about what happened. Parents are called and they won't trust you for a very long time.
You aren't making any attempt at responsible drinking but a blatant attempt for abuse. Excess alcohol consumption is bad for your body and being so young you don't want to poison yourself with that.
There are real dangers to drinking heavily. Don't pretend they don't exist and lie to yourself to make yourself feel better.

I'm glad you chose this choice, it shows that you are mature, being able to look at the risks and be able to stand up to your cousin who's 4 years older than you and tell him "no thanks". Good job buddy.

I would probably have gotten drunk with him lol even though you would probably get a hangover some of the most memorable nights you can have are while drunk

well it seemed wrong for me being 15 and still in 8th grade. i get all A's and i dont want to fuck up my grades and my life, i know a little drinking cant really do that but if you get caught or any of the reasons that some of the people said above then yes that can screw up your life. I dont really feel the need to be drunk anyways so it doesnt matter.

Did you not read the replies to this topic? He has made the smart decision which can save him a whole ton of grief, and now you're trying to get him to do something which is a stupid idea? That isn't exactly advocating drugs, but it is encouraging underage drinking, which I would think is against VT's rules, correct me if I'm wrong.

(Your completely right its against the rules to promote any kind of illegal activity.) You made a wise decision I can see why you make straight A's

Remember too though that at the age of around 18 your body can handle a glass of beer with no ill effects, and it only takes an hour to burn it off. So you don't have to lock yourself in a room, just don't go overboard. But you seem responsible enough to deal with that. Getting drunk is bad, that doesn't necessarliy mean a drink now and then isn't. :) But not until you're older.

i know. i have noticed im the one in the group of crazy kids who do stupid things but i am the one who will make those crazy kids do something a little less crazy so they dont kill themselves. i have noticed that about me and a couple other people in my school and i wonder what the world would be without people like this ahah chaos!

I know, I'm kind of the same way. I won't do anything crazy like drinking or vandalizing or whatever, but sometimes I'm the one who calms my friends down. If I'm not in school though, I will act absolutely nuts, just not in a dangerous way.

Drinking is not crazy neither is vandalizm.. Their both just stupid..
Drinking isn't necessarily stupid by nature. But usually when you let a bunch of teenagers drink they turn it into stupidity
As for crazy things.. Well those can happen without drinking, but usually that 5 or 10 beers gives that teenager some courage to go off and do something idiotic
