Virus: Razor Web: Adware

Somehow, I got this adware virus. Razor Web. It is the most fucking annoying virus ever, it spams ads at me, no matter what I click on.

Anyone, know any way of getting rid of it?

Uf using Chrome, go onto chrome://extensions. Delete any weird one you see. Then, reset your browser to default settings just to be safe. This should fix it but if it reinstall itself the fix is a little more complex. Try that and let me know how it goes.

Also, check your startup programs and scheduled programs. Check that chrome is actually chrome and not a fake. If it is, you'll need to reinstall it.

go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features on Windows 7 and see if there are any weird looking programs that may be adware and uninstall them.

One of the laptops at my school had this issue and I totally feel your pain. It was quite irritating.

Malware bytes anti malware usually does the trick in one simple step. Simply uninstalling programs or removing them from startup does not remove the rogue entries created in the registry unless you know specifically what they are, or using a virus removal tool like malwarebytes that does it all for you.
