I love to take pictures, and when I find something to shoot, I can take decent photos, but I never seem to be able to find or think of things to take pictures of. Does anyone have any ideas for things for me to photograph? Any types of objects you've had success with?
I'm going to get my own camera soon, so my photographing activity should increase, and I might start posting up some pictures sometimes.

I live in your province. Maybe I'll hunt you down and you can take a picture of my motivation dying.
Haha. Try going outdoors. They're a bit cliche (at least amongst amateurs) but nature shots are nice. Trees and bushes and such. You could also wait for a sunset or sunrise or something, the sky is particularly nice a few moments on most days. ('Least around here it is.)

Where in BC?
I know what you mean about nature shots, just the only camera I have access to is my mom's and she doesn't want me straying far away, but I have some nice woods near my house, so I'll keep it in mind.

Well, if you're creative, you could make it look far away. I once took a nice shot of a mountain, but just outside the picture, if I moved the camera down a bit, you'd see the roofs of people's houses and a school yard. xP
And I live about an hour east of Vancouver.

Ah, yeah I was doing things like that today. I can't believe I completely overlooked mountains. Gheez I'm stoopid. There are so many up here. I live up in Terrace, if you know where that is.

If you are thinking about people shots, I think candid shots are best. If you mean just subjects in general, maybe try something that most people aren't going think about. I was looking through a magazine, and I stopped on a picture because I didn't know what it was. I ended up being a flower petal, but it was very zoomed in on, so I couldn't tell. I would suggest that you just try walking around somewhere, doesn't have to be outside. Just look at things that you wouldn't take pictures of normally.

If you really want to get into photography, it might help to read some online tutorials or books
If you don't feel like doing that, just shoot what you think looks good, or interesting. Photography is all based on what you make of it.

It's not guides I need. IN fact, I can take some pretty good pictures if I find something interesting. It's just finding stuff that's hard.I've exhausted the stuff in my house.

I saw an interesting picture the other day. The person filled a vase with clear carbonated water (like from a soda-stream or something) and put some fruit in it. Bubbles had formed around the fruit and the photo was taken through the glass looking up at the fruit. Looks pretty cool, but takes a bit of work to get it right. Try this with a blue background if you're using red apples.
